Genesis 46:2, Why did God address him as Jacob if He had changed his name?

Question: In chapter 46:2 when God spoke to Israel, why did He address him as Jacob if He had changed his name? Answer: Some people believe that when he is called Jacob it is because he is not trusting God like he used to, and that he is called Israel when he is trusting God. I personally do not hold this view, because it is not really consistent. My perspective is that there is no real significance, it is just two ways to refer to the same person. -PJ
