Exodus 2:11, How did Moses know he was Hebrew?

Question: Hello! In Exodus 2:11 "... Moses went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he was an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren." How did Moses know he was Hebrew, not Egyptian? Did he look so different from the Egyptians or was he raised knowing he was Hebrew? Answer: We do not know exactly when or how Moses learned that he was a Hebrew. We do know that at this time he was 40 years old (Acts 7:23). I do not think that Moses' appearance would have been very different than the Egyptians. He was named Moses (drawn out) because of the way that Pharaoh's daughter found him, so it is possible that the story was well known. -PJ
