Leviticus 1, Were different animals killed in different locations?

Question: Is there a reason why in Leviticus 1:3 it says that the burnt offering from the "herd" must be presented at the entrance to the tent of meeting, and yet in 1:10 it says that the burnt offering from the "flock" he is to slaughter it at the North side of the altar! Is there a reason or meaning behind why they were killed in different locations? Answer: I think that both of these refer to the same location, the North side of the altar. Leviticus 1:5 says it is to be killed at the altar by the door of the sanctuary. Jewish tradition agrees with this understanding of it. It seems the North side was where offerings were sacrificed, the East side was where the ashes were put, and the West side was where the laver was. -PJ
