Question: In Genesis 3:15 I see that God is speaking to the serpent, but I don't understand what it means? Answer: Genesis 3:15 is an important verse and it is considered to be the first prophecy of the Messiah. The natural aspect of this verse is that now there is a general fear/enmity between humanity and serpents. In the Garden of Eden, things were perfect, there was no need to fear serpents or other animals.
The spiritual aspect of this verse is that there is a general fear/enmity between humanity and Satan. Evil has now been introduced, and the effects would be long lasting.
Then we have the prophetic aspect. The reference to "her Seed" speaks of the miraculous virgin birth, since the woman does not have the seed, but the egg. Jesus is the "Seed" referred to, and Satan bruised His heel at the cross, but at the cross Jesus crushed Satan's head. -PJ
