How To Support The Message
The message can be supported by Cross References, Illustrations, Examples or Quotations.
Each one should be chosen specifically and strategically to strengthen the points. Be careful to not include elements that will distract from the message.

Your objective in prayer is to gain discernment from the Lord about how to clarify the points and solidify the message.
SUPPORT THE MESSAGE WITH CROSS REFERENCES
Cross References are primarily for you. They help you interpret the passage with other Biblical ideas.
Cross References can also be helpful to reinforce or clarify your message points.
SUPPORT THE MESSAGE WITH ILLUSTRATIONS
Wiersbe: ‘An illustration starts out like a picture, bringing clarity to a truth. It allows the listener to “see” what’s being said. Then an illustration turns into a mirror, allowing the listener to gain “insight” into how this new truth affects him or her.’
SUPPORT THE MESSAGE WITH EXAMPLES
Examples help people see the point or truth in action. Examples can be from the Bible, your own life, news articles, or other sources.
SUPPORT THE MESSAGE WITH QUOTATIONS
Quotations from commentaries can be helpful to provide additional insight, clarity or credibility.
